Damn that was a drawn out affair! Still, doesn't detract from this being an incredible signing and at a great price too.

Brilliant signing. Along with Podolski, Giroud and possibly Sahin. Nobody can really criticise the management for not investing in the squad

Nope, I agree, thats a good bit of business. I don't think the fans EXPECT too much, they just want to see a sign of ambition from the club and, with the 3 signings made and a definite move away from undeveloped kids - its a move in the right direction !!
Happy days, I'm certainly up for this season. I've said all along, what we need to do is go back to the original plan, buying men up for the task, already developed and augment them with promising kids, we went far too far in the other direction and the balance was totally off.
Hopefully next season we add to these additions and really get a kick ass squad together.

Nobody can really criticise the management for not investing in the squad Yep, can agree with that, that's three very good signings, whilst we could still be announcing Sahin and we could still be keeping van Persie. Happy days indeed. Last time around, Gazidis and Wenger deserved criticism - but this time around, the situation has changed and they've done fairly well thus far, so they deserve to be praised. Fair play to them.

Gosh that took a while to happen. Not surprising though but at least we got there in the end. Better than before. Better certainly than last year so let's hope we can beef up the defence as well. Then we'll be in good shape to be in the thick of it.

The icing on the cake would be for RVP to stay, that would definitely prove to me that the management are aiming to win things this season. Still I’m happy with this signing and look forward to seeing the player this season.

I think the management have demonstrated that they are aiming to win things this season with the signings of Podolski, Giroud and the masterstroke signing Cazorla. The RVP situation is a bit out of their hands. I hope they keep him regardless of the contract situation, my personal feeling is that he will do a u-turn and stay, now that he's seen the additions to our squad.

If they sell RVP and Song then they have demonstrated nothing - only their ability to turn a transfer profit every year.

he stated his position after the first 2 signings. We have now added Cazorla - but he may still be concerned that Walcott has not signed and the rumour about Song may further unsettle him.

If we keep RVP that is step one. If we convince him to stay past next season .. we will be in a very healthy position. We would need to add to the purchases this year and show the world that we are serious players .. not just make weights or a feeder club.
