for you too PNE on account of your half century of posts Seems to me there are two ways our policy can change. 1 - we have a disastrous start to the season, one that is even worse than last year's and the board caves in on investment 2 - Mr U somehow manages to get that magic 30% and claims a seat on the board although it must be said he would always be outvoted by Wonky Kroenke so perhaps the best thing is if Wonky faces bankruptcy and has to offload his shares to Mr U

We should be spending more. As HH points out, spending creates profit. If we reached the SF instead of the QF of the CL we make a few million. If that same investment every season creates similar improvements then before you know we are winning trophies and increasing profits even more. Our current policy can only result in things getting worse. The current policy can only lead to perpetual struggle for CL qualification. Thats not good enough ! WE are not Everton or Spurs, we are the 3rd most successful club in England and so should be aiming higher than that.

We can hope, but whilst there is very little difference financially from finishing 4th to 1st in the PL, the club dont care. Its ALL about money only. I wish the CL would shrink down to the top 2 teams.

It is about expectation and ours is that we GENUINELY compete and not just finish 3rd or 4th because of the weaknesses of many other clubs. This season we were third not because we were good, but because other's were bad. The team we had last season would not have finished third in the previous 15 years.

The most frustrating thing is that Wenger doesnt see it He actually believes this squad is going to win the Champions League

The most frustrating thing is that Wenger doesnt see it He actually believes this squad is going to win the Champions League The saddest part is that if we simply invested 50-60 million we could win quite a few things over the next few years and reap back what we put in!!!!

You want to know what is even sadder than that - AVB has been given £50m to invest

Agreed on that count too The most frustrating thing is that Wenger doesnt see it He actually believes this squad is going to win the Champions League I imagine he factors in the possibility that anything could happen over the course of 90 mins or perhaps more. Not realistic if you consider that we have not been able to beat Barca over an aggregate of two legs. We could perhaps get the better of Chelsea but would not be able to outperform Utd either I would say, unles they get knocked out by someone else. It's all wing and a prayer stuff by Arsene and not unlike a dose of wishful thinking. A Sherman tank could never go up against a Tiger and in ordinary course, survive. All this amounts to my belief that Arsene can no longer clearly see the bigger picture and that picture is that we are simply not strong enough. Falling away in the EPL to 19 points behind the runner up club should be clear enough for anyone to see but not Arsene or this board, it seems.

A Sherman tank could never go up against a Tiger and in ordinary course, survive. Sherman tank vs Tiger... love it... used to do all those comparisons as a kid Its certainly a good anlogy for our current predicament! Now if the Sherman is hidden (and Tele Sevalas is the tank commander, or Donald Sutherland) then of course the Sherman can win !

And that presumably includes burning some bridges too ;D Is it me or do these characatures of the famous actors holding a dollar bill (from the film we have been been alluding to) bare a striking resemblance to BOULD, WENGER. KROENKE, and GAZIDIS ;D
