For me guys the bottom line is this - criminals will ALWAYS seek to gain an advantage. So whether we have guns made legal or not, criminals will always take things a step further, it is the nature of who they are and what they do, it is what separates them from us and it will NEVER change - doesn't matter how draconian or liberal the laws become. You're right. The psychology of criminal intent is having power over your victim to assert your motive. Allowing people to arm themselves in a bid to have an advantage, will only serve to up the ante for the criminal. If someone breaks into your home now, it's highly unlikely they will be carrying a gun. If they think that you are though (and even if you're not) , then they are more likely to be carrying a gun to achieve their objective and 'protect' themselves from you!

Countryside Alliance - isn't it that lot who are happy for horses and dogs to chase foxes for miles before they are ripped to pieces? They to me are terrible folk too but country types assure me that it keeps the pop of the foxes down thereby ensuring a safe environment for the sheep. I wouldn't know since I'm a townie And if you believes that, then it's no wonder people get sucked into their pro gun babble too.

it is really rare to find foxes in the countryside. Life is much easier in the towns. However these toffs who dress in blood red and swig brandy before chasing a fox- if they can find one, could quite simply do it without a pack of dogs.

Please try reading what I wrote and not place words where they don't belong. I reported what country types say to me about fox hunting. I didn't say I subscribed to it.

Indeed, more food and warmth for the foxes in towns. There was an eye-opening program a year or so ago about wildlife in towns. Amazing what you can find these days or nights.

I'm not surprised that you attempted to alter to he meaning of what you wrote. It's a familiar trait.
