Sunday Times page 12 discusses top sides increases in wages.
Chelsea £133m - 172 - 167 -174 -190 - this last year? Man Utd £92m -121 -123 -132 -153 - this last year? Liverpool £77m -90 -107 -121 -135 - this last year? Man City £?? - ?? - 82 -133 - 174 - this last year? Arsenal £90m - 101 -104 - 110 -124 - this last year?
and Arsenal state they want to reduce by £23m !!!
We have signed 2 more at what cost? How on earth are we going to reduce ? Does the club plan to let players go for a song (no pun intended) in order to lower wage bill. If so I might applaud it - I watch with interest. What do you think?

We have a large number of squad players who are superfluous to requirements. I imagine they include the likes of Denilson, Bendyboy, Arshavin, etc and our desire to reduce wages really just means the loss of these players.

but many will have to go to total £23m - those examples are on less than £3m a year each.

Bendy Denilson Arshavin Djourou Diaby Flappy Vela Lansbury Park Squishy Chamakh Sanchez watt Botelho I bet there is well over £23m in that list and except for Djourou I bet you can count the number of games they played on one hand.

I'd agree with nearly all them - but its getting rid !!! Give away time? I wonder if the Club have player valuations to worry about - where are the clever 'money' fans on here? Come on Hotty and Jayram - SPEAK UP.

The idea that we need to reduce wages is just plain stupid on the clubs part. If we were losing money then yes, reduce costs, but the problem is not with the amount of the wages but the DISTRIBUTION of wages.
We need to be spending probably £10m or so more on wages each year but share it out in a more realistic and market driven way. We should also be shedding no less than 15 players from our professional squad. There is simply no need to carry 70 plus pro's.
If the strategy is to shed the cost of lower quality players wages (earning too much) and bank the cash instead of paying our top players MORE then we are well and truly FUCKED. Oops I swore... Was I the first ?

Yeah you could well have been. Mind you I made references to a certain Welsh sheep counter or serpent which could be construed as name-calling. I rather think it was suitably descriptive.
Our wages policy was down to Arsene, was it not? Again another flawed strategy just like the basement buying policy and total lack of match tactics.
I shudder that it is not just the players' wages we have to worry about. Perhaps Steve Bould has better vision.

There's definitely more that the wages to worry about.
You know, with our defence I see so many stupid basic mistakes being made by Arsenal defenders that we are taught about as school kids and I always wonder how in the world is it allowed to happen? Are we being too demanding of our players? Do we recognise the mistakes of our own players but really it's the level across the league.
I am talking about really basic things like the full backs being deeper than the centre backs, the centre backs rushing out of position into midfield, the full backs giving the winger 15 yards of space to receive the ball, turn and run at them, the miscontrolled defensive interceptions straight to a forward , the crazy mistakes through panicking, the defensive midfielders flooding forward and no one covering... We seem to have no clue at defending... Or maybe defending is just not as good these days and everyone suffers from it...?
I certainly hope Bould sorts out the organisation, because no team will win a league with a poor defence.
