I read Wenger's statements from yesterday again this morning and was a little shocked. He is saying that he might not even be in training until October! Wenger himself has said that it takes his players 6 weeks to get match fit, so we may indeed be looking at December before we see him. Also Rosicky is will be out till around the end of September, so dont expect to see him till October at the earliest. This news make it VITAL that we sign a creative midfielder and I am frankly astounded that he has not done so BEFORE the tour.

We have plenty of decidedly average and young players who can scrape by. Winning would just embarrass the opposition and this is a concern for our board. Do we want to be seen as a team that is unpleasant to travelling teams and their supporters? I commend this attitude and completely agree that buying good or class players should be shelved and we should continue to buy young and up and coming players that we can sell as soon as they get good. this way we will never beat anyone and opposing fans will continue to relish the idea of a jolly day out at the Emirates.

I announced a bad feeling I had about Wilshere's return and was flamed for being negative on NOT..... I still have anxiety about how good he will be.

It is such a rare discovery. You truly embody the spirit that Arsene and this board are trying to create in the sport. Why win everything when you can share it out? Can anyone imagine how lifeless and boring football would be if we won everything? Our gate would fall away and no one would want to buy our T-shirts and other trinkets. Arsenal would run the risk on falling on hard times so this way, this way, we can inject life into football and make it an interesting sport. It's very much like the FIA outlawing innovations or as in other forms of motorsport ( I forget which one ) where the lead drivers of a race start the next one with weight penalties. Strange I know but all in the name of longevity eh? ;D

Wenger has also taken the normal view for him - that we have a squad to cope with the usual 3 serious long injuries. Do we really? I just see bit part players standing in - much inferior to those they replace.

They would likely show that our medical team accidentally cut his nuts off instead of treating his ankle!
