The Turkish midfielder has been told by Jose Mourinho that he is welcome to leave Real Madrid if he wants to. he has given the decision to Sagin. This is contrary to reports earlier in the week where we heard that Sahin was highly rated and Real only wanted to loan him. That was apparently the reason the deal was being held up - Arsenal wanted a clause to purchase the player at the end of the loan period. I guess it comes down to whether Sahin believes he can push into the first team at Real Madrid - if not then it would now seem the deal is well and truly on. Could this be a one of the best weeks we have had in the transfer market for many a year - Cazorla and Sahin? Two top players in my view. Of course we are Arsenal - so there is plenty of time to mess it up! Come on Arsenal - get it done! This is very exciting news, I was happy if we just got him on loan but if we get him on a permanent basis along with Cazola then I will be ecstatic

Same here ALTOUBLI
It may be that we get him on loan for one year with an option to buy - even better in my opinion because we can assess him and also the recovery of Jack Wilshere...

Yes that’s true but my only concern there is that other clubs may come in for him after his loan spell has finished. Especially if he performs very well for us. But i'm sure the club have at least thought of this and have in place a deal were we get first choice after the loan. Still the last few days have brought out some great news for us an i'm a lot more optimistic about the coming season now.

They couldn't even decide their favourite sandwich filling.

It may mean we miss out, but if we get the player, invariably it will be a good deal...

I'd rather overpay and get him than miss out, Sahin is a top player, he's worth a larger purchase fee after the loan period than what we'll probably offer.

Agreed Its about time the club took some gambles. A no risk policy has not resulted in success.

Erm hm ... are you lot talking about terms of the loan contract .. and a possible transfer fee and first option to buy ?
I just thought we wanted him on loan .. as a sort of stop gap. How good is he ?

Well seems like a win/win situation with him then. I'd hope Real are not eager to sell, give us time to see the player up close for a season and then bite off Real's hand for him if he is as good as he looks.

Maureen's not Sahin's greatest fan either.
