so instead of keeping RVP for the year, and trying to get him to re-sign - the Board (Ivan the Terrible), would rather have the money.......same old same old.

I'll be pissed if we sell him, I thought the club were showing some freekin backbone for once !

I'll be pissed off if we sell him to United of ALL teams. That would just be taking a dump on the club if we do, although totally self-inflicted as we don't have to sell him to United.
Seriously though, if United are going to give him £220kp/w, how can we honestly compete with that when Robin allegedly on £80k p/w?
On a lighter note:
At least they're having fun in Germany...

Statement of intent and a show of ambition. If we "choose" to sell him to Man U then we show we have none at all. If RVP rejects all transfers then, come December, he will be free to choose the club he wants to choose and Arsenal won't have a say in the decision.
In that case the club can't be blamed.

Latest reports suggest that the Man Utd bid has stalled quoting SAF that Arsenal are reluctant to discuss bids of less than £20M.
A show of intent would be for the Board to say we're no selling for less than £50m, it's not as if RVP cost us much in the first place.
Seems as if Kroenke is only interested in 'trousering' large sums of moolah.

actually I doubt Silent Stan is behind it - It will be Ivan the terrible on the money - and Wenger insisting he doesn't want to sell. I don't often say 'good man !' about Wenger.

He has got full control - ie majority shareholder.

Usmanov has said that he is not looking to make money from Arsenal so won't sell his shares any time soon.

Lets hope Usmanov pushes to get more shares and ultimately challenge Kroeneke for the ownership of the club, he is far richer than Kroenke and could probably persuade Stan to sell his shares to him but this certainly wouldn’t be easy to do. I blame the shareholders for their idiotic choices in bringing Stan in to begin with, they should have seen the past examples of American owners ruining their respective clubs but instead they only cared about the money.

Who can Usmanov buy shares from ? I wondered myself ... obviously not Kroenke and Hill-Wood, are the other board members pro or anti Usmanov does anyone know ?

he can only get a few shares from the Arsenal's Supporters trust and some former players who have shares, but these amount to nothing really so he will most likely have to purchase all of Kroenke's shares from him or nothing will change. Which is very grim when you think about it, so it seems we may be stuck with Stan for the foreseeable future unless Usmanov buys the club outright

Kroenke has 66.83%
Usamov has 29.72
others 3.45%
Usamov can only increase his shareholding by buying from others (inc AST) or Kroenke.
Most of the other Board members are anti Usamov.

I think AST members are reported to have only a little over 1000 shares ....
