A Very Warm Welcome to Arsenal talk where in our world, friends come together to discuss and share information on matters of our beloved club, informational, educational and other enjoyable material. All are welcome who seek to enjoy the benefits of good company and beneficial discussion in an environment or mutual tolerance, understanding and respect and where it is hoped, moderation will be but a final resort.
Please take a moment to read through these guidelines which will help you enjoy the benefits of our forum.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
Your Profile
While you will have established aspects of your profile when registering, you may in fact fine tune aspects of your profile and usage of the forum in the section entitled “ Modify Profile ”. Here you will be able to change you display name, add or modify your avatar and place a signature if you wish.
Posting and Raising Discussion Threads
You may raise both threads and polls for the purposes of discussion as well as ask questions of members on topics relevant to each board of the forum
Please allocate one topic per thread. This facilitates discussions and avoids confusion.
If you post material that is not your own, please always acknowledge / credit the owner of the material. If unknown, then please state as such. Should a site from which you are considering taking material requires you to seek permission first then please do that before posting anything from that source. Please note that material may either be text or graphics.
Please remember that posts made on the forum belong to the forum just as data in the forum belongs to the site provider.
Posting Pictures
Pictures may be posted and these are encouraged wherever possible as they bring a worthwhile visual element which heightens the informative content of discussions.
You can either use the ' attachment tool ' that is located under the title box of each thread or you may use a picture host. Easiest host to use is photobucket.com. Here are three easy steps –
1. Register with a picture host like photobucket.com
This is a free service for the most part
2. Once registered, use the ‘ upload ’ function on your photobucket homepage to locate the image you wish to post from your hard drive.
PLEASE REMEMBER to set the maximum size of the image
800 x 600 is best
Anything else would make viewing and accessing the page for users difficult.
Uploading follows automatically
3. Once uploaded, simply copy the fourth option under each image on your photobucket homepage and paste it into the body of your text here. This fourth link is the Image Tag.
Please adhere to the 800 x 600 size. One up in certain circumstances where characters in an image may be clearer may be permissible. However oversized pictures are not user-friendly and may be removed. If you are unsure how a picture will look then use the preview button to check the result before finalizing your post. Should your images be too large, they will have to be removed so as not to inconvenience other members. You can always repost the images but please resize them first.
Personal Messages
The personal messaging system is for use when you need to communicate with each other privately.
PMs and for that matter emails should not be posted in the main forum without the express permission of all parties involved in these communications.
One small note –
Please do not post in the forum or include in your avatar or signature, inappropriate or offensive images. If in doubt, please check with a moderator. Any item deemed offensive will be removed.
Karma Button
As you may have noticed, the software allows us to exalt a member where one feels a particular contribution merits praise. If you wish to give a member karma, please ' award wisely ' so as not to abuse the karma system or it may be withdrawn and the ' abused ' exalt count revised. In a similar manner, you should consider carefully before seeking to negative karma a member. Again, if this is abused the karma count will be revised.
GENERAL FORUM CONDUCT
1. Please express yourself in a courteous, polite and respectful manner and do not seek to annoy, intimidate nor upset other members either in the forum or by private messaging or by email. If the expression of a sentiment may offend, then it would be best to err on the side of caution and post something else. Do not start a dispute in the forum. If you have an issue, you should try to resolve it with whoever you have it with by PM. In the event that there is no headway, then please refer the matter to the admin team. The first duty of your moderators is to the forum and its’ members as a whole so you may be assured that any dispute will be resolved in the fairest possible manner. The decision of the team will inevitably be final.
2. You should not collect any data on members. Please do not post or distribute, solicited or otherwise, personal information about other members. You are asked not to include or embed in any post any applet, script, object, application, or code of any kind that captures, copies, or collects information about members.
3. Always use the same screen name and do not impersonate others. Do not create multiple screen names. Please do not use references in your profile, account or display name which may be offensive to anyone. Deliberate violation will result in removal of an account.
4. Always ensure that no references which may be offensive are made in your posts. Posts which do not meet our requirements in this and other criteria may be removed.
5. Do please try as far as is possible to ascertain the accuracy of the information that you are posting in the forum. If in doubt, please express your statements as being made on the basis of your opinion or that which is to the best of your knowledge. We cannot know everything but participation here does require you to exercise a duty to present accurate information. Please note that wilful misrepresentation may be subject to moderation.
6. Trolls and disruptive visitors are not welcome. We exist as friends here and as such should have a favorable regard towards each other. Members come here to share their fun, thoughts and ideas with each other. If you feel unable to share in someone else's fun or joy then please do not rain on their parade. Please respect each other's views as you would like others to respect yours.
Participation in the forum is deemed to be acceptance of the above guidelines and terms of membership. Guidelines are updated from time to time and updates are binding on all community members as signified by your continued use of the site, so please check these guidelines occasionally.
We hope you will all enjoy in the free and friendly atmosphere of Arsenal Talk and indeed make us your online home.
With best wishes
