fantastic dedication, and technology to shave hundredths off your time... Hoy can rest easy - handing over to the young guns - they are terrific.

I could've cried for the girls. Vicky and Jess were worth another gold These rules are far too draconianly-policed. I mean there was hardly anything in the Chinese switchover and look what happened. No appeal is another crazy rule. There have been some crazy changes in these Olympics like the badminton being changed from knockout to group stages at 1/4 finals. How silly is that? Even Gail Emms who though was shocked and disappointed at what happened felt that the rules caused this and it should be a knockout competition at the 1/4 final stage. Not amused

what is the point of the cycling event taking place right now ? 20 or so riders cycling round the track really slowly .. for 70 odd laps.
what am I missing with this event ?

OK .. there are various sprints throughout the race.
Thing is though, this is cycling for flip's sake. Does it have to be so complicated ?

Hoy - what a man ! Lord Hoy? King Thighs?
Amazing to see a hard bastard like him - cry !! You'd think his mum just died.
Talking of crying - what about the athlete crying on the podium - remembering his gran who brought him up. Almost joined him sobbing. Makes our footie stars look shallow and pathetic.

I'll miss Queen Vicky. Always good to see her and always made us so proud. That UCI commissar is an idiot. Meares moved in on Pendleton. He chose to ignore that but presumably Meares leaned over without crossing the red line while Pendleton did. Two wrongs don't make a right nor do three. Never mind, Victoria Pendleton will always be Queen and now she has handed the baton over to Laura. Laura Trott, Essex girl? Possibly Golden Girl - Definitely!!!
