I see the 8th of the nine American boxers was beaten yesterday!
The USA now only have one boxer left in the competition - its another disaster in the boxing for them. What has happened to the Americans? In both professional boxing and amateur boxing they have become also rans.
Incredible really - is there a change the country are going through which means they are no longer able to produce top talent? (similar to England with football)...

I think as more black Americans get better education and the means of improvement- there are fewer who see boxing as a way forward.

I think as more black Americans get better education and the means of improvement- there are fewer who see boxing as a way forward. Not sure this is really the case though - the standard of living in America has dropped sharply over the last decade and the level of poverty in certain neighbourhoods is worse than ever - black - white - latin - you name it...

Did you see the last US boxer go out? OMG what a farce - he EASILY won that fight... the ref even put the US boxer's arm up by mistake. What a complete joke. Almost as bad a the Korean 'victory' in Seoul!
Shocking.

The judging has been shocking at times, I saw one American convincingly beat his Indian opponent only for the judges to give it to the Indian. It’s true that the Americans aren’t producing as many talented professional boxers but they do have a few in each weight that are very good or the best in their weight division. Just look at Mayweather, Dawson, Ward. It’s the heavier weights that the Americans are struggling to produce talent for, but that applies to most nations. Apart from Haye we don’t have any decent heavyweights

I heard the reasons for WI demise in cricket was losing top athletes to other sports - the kids seem to be chasing the money. They blame the US.
