Under £15M seems like a real bargain, looks like playing hard worked for us this time.

People are being too optimistic (bordering on delusion) People need to start remaining pragmatic about the signings - I'm not talking about this site btw as pretty much everyone seems to be a realist.
I've seen comments say we can push City and Utd for the title. Lets not go that far yet. Even if we do end up acquiring both Sahin and Cazorla, I wouldn't say we would be in for the title because United have a tactically astute and flexible manager who can get maximum effort out of his players and City's squad is littered with strength in depth as well as quality. Mancini has also vowed to get in 5 more players, so whilst we are improving, equally, so are the teams around us and we can't let the excitement get to our heads, otherwise some Arsenal fans will make comments that will haunt them forever.

I still believe, even with Cazorla and possibly Sahin, that the best we can manage is 3rd. Chelsea and Citeh are too strong, we have a chance at beating United, this is one of the worst united sides for a long time.

Our first team is when fully fit is up there with the likes of United and City but our squad as a whole isn't and that is the major problem. I would say that these signings have strengthened our chance of getting into the top four next season but we are still miles behind City and United even with Sahin and Carzola. Squad depth needs major improvement if we are to challenge for the title.

exactly - football is squad game and over the years, Fergie and Mancini (though it's been far easier for him) have managed their squad better than we have.

Dont fall into that trap my friend, I have counted United our numerous times because of the squad they had only for them to win the title that same year. I think they will definitely be in contention this year, it will take some time for Chelsea's new signings to gel together and with Kagawa in their team I can see them being the team to beat next year.

Boys I think we can compete. Lets be honest, against the top teams we did well, what let us down was lack of squad depth and not enough players contributing to goals.
I think we can bring it to City !! I am hopeful.

I thought RVP was a good captain too, he lead by example and didn't let his head drop. Ok, he isn't the best captain but he had the necessary fire to be a leader. I'd say only Vermaelen is real captain material, but for me even he is not vocal enough. I like my captains to be traditional captains, born leader on the pitch and tell players they are playing shit if they are playing shit. A rocket up the arse from the captain makes you raise your game, your pride should make that happen. Ditto this and that. Too often back in the spring of 2011 we just melted away when the opposition turned up the heat. There was no leader worth the name on the pitch. Some say he preferred to let his craft do the talking but when that was not much on show, all that remained was a deathly silence resulting in the erosion of composure of the team. Perhaps a new leader may appear in the coming season.

Well looks like one of the 2 are definites ..... lets hope we get Sahin now. yeah - come on Arsenal, bring in Sahin... Benayoun was an important squad addition last year and I think we need the cover with dim gone and Wilshere and Rosicky injured...
