Well looks like one of the 2 are definites ..... lets hope we get Sahin now. yeah - come on Arsenal, bring in Sahin... Benayoun was an important squad addition last year and I think we need the cover with dim gone and Wilshere and Rosicky injured... If we are going to get anywhere this year, we need to ensure that our squad has sufficient depth. Benny was an inspired loanee in the previous season and quite honestly I would have kept him in place of the dross we're saddled with. You know, the ones no one else wants. Wenger keeps saying on occasion each year about our lack of depth so let's hope that in the interest of leaving on a high he does address this issue or from here on in as over the previous seven seasons, we'll forever be bridesmaids at best.

I'd see how much Chelsea are willing to sell Benayoun for, he helped us get 3rd last season, and he always performs when required to.

Yeah I agree, Benayoun did very well for us last season and would definitely strengthen our squad so I would be happy to see him return. I doubt he would cost much either seeing as he wont realistically get into the Chelsea team and has stated his desire to leave the club. But would he be happy warming the bench when the rest of our players are fit

ALTBOULI - I don't think he'd be happy, but he wouldn't let it get him down and he'd just keep working hard until the manager gives him a chance. That's what he did last season - he barely featured for us up until the NLD and then after that, he started getting regular game time with a string of brilliant performances.
He just keeps his head down and does all the talking on the pitch. He is Mr Reliable.

I've just done some research, it looks like Benayoun is available for about 2 million pound. If you consider that we're offering Caen 7 million for a 17 year old unproven kid, then 2 million for, as Ammaar correctly says, Mr Reliable, is a steal.

I would sign him up for that - without question. Excellent squad player.

He isn't going to win us anything by himself, but as has been stated, an excellent squad player. Would be a good buy.

This is exactly what we have lacked, reliable squad players. I'd take him back in a heartbeat, he comes on the pitch and puts in 100% effort.

The way things are going at the moment we will need him more than ever, Song seems to be on his way along with RVP and the Sahin deal looks off so we need major strengthening in our midfield and strike force

Sahin on loan is still a possibility according to latest reports. Hmmm - will believe it when I see it. To be honest, the main reason we needed him was to provide early season cover with Rosicky and Wilshere out. At this late stage a new signing wont play till October anyway under Wengers' rules.
