Sir Alex Ferguson on van Persie: ''We've made a bid, they've been trying to negotiate with other clubs. We have to persevere. Hopefully it comes our way. I don't have a gut feeling about it. We can't get a break through with Arsenal. I don't know what Arsenal's thoughts are because they're not giving anything away.'' Please God, please don't let us sell Robin to Man United.... That is how the fans feel - but the club it would seem do not care. They are quite willing to rip the guts out the fan base as long as they make money. Selling RVP to Man Utd puts us in the same category as Spurs when they bowed down to Utd and sold Berbatov. If we do this we are kneeling to Utd and accepting them as masters.

I agree, though my preferred analogy would have us bending over and taking one up the chutney trumpet from those Salford tw@s. I want to sell RvP, but not to a rival. Honestly, we take 1 step forward, and then 2 giant steps back.

What happened to this club? we used to be challenging for trophies on a regular basis and were the strongest team in the league, now its debatable whether were even the strongest team in London, we have become a laughing stock, even the likes of Spurs are laughing at us, so embarrassing and frustrating to watch these idiots systematically destroy the club.

It's all been since David Dein was fired. Peter Hill-Wood hasn't got the foggiest clue how to run a club, and that baldy ballbag Gazidis is only interested in the bottom line.

I honestly think that would be the final straw with the fans and that the supporters would protest should we sell him to United. If there is a mass protest, believe me, I would be part of it.

Well maybe they have a plan. Maybe they have seen our midfield needs strengthening and selling Song is part of it. No problem with that as long as we buy in better quality you must be dreaming HH its our board after all so I expect to hear that Frimpong and Coquelin will step up to replace Song and the other players returning will be "like new signings". Looks like were back to business as usual with Stan filling his pockets and Gazidis covering for him...and they call Usmanov the crook LOL - this is a bit too close to the truth for comfort !!

The argument has been Dein was not good for Arsenal, I don't see how people can have that opinion. When Dein was here we won titles, and played the best football, he had the club at heart. Ok, he pushed for us to move to Wembley but that died as soon as the fans voiced disapproval by not turning up to some of the CL games there.
I said it before the only way Arsenal can show ambition in this situation is to not sell RVP to the highest bidder - therefore not selling him to a direct rival. Lets see what they do.

Dein understood the gate money aspect of the future. He saw the increased money by going to Wembley - a misjudgement. Now we have got Emirates that money is secured. What he didn't forsee was a new owner who didn't invest that revenue in the playing staff.

Wasnt Dein backing Usmanov not to long ago? I think he even sold all of his shares to Usmanov if i'm not mistaken which suggests to me that he is backing Usmanov over the current board. Also I think what Kyle is referring to is Deins sons supposedly had a hand in Clichy, Nasri etc leaving to City though i'm not sure if this is true or not.

Dein sold his 15% shares to Red & White Holdings - ie Usmanov.

Yes I thought so and I believe that he was backing Usmanov to be part of the board, though I think his stance has changed recently
