Heard a rumor that we are in for in Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue, any one know anything about him? A real CDM, not box to box like M'Vila. He wins the ball, and offers a physical prescence.

I'm not a fan of youtube videos on players, but this basically sums up what he does, though the person who's made the video clearly forgot that he's a DM, and decided to focus on some rare adventures forward.

I found the quote Wenger after the Cologne interesting:
There’s no news on van Persie,” Wenger said. “Our fans want him to stay so you can understand they are excited. Anything I could say about van Persie would be a lie because he’s our player and that’s it.
“Robin scored 30 goals last season and you want to keep your best player. He was player of the year in England. We want to keep him. I cannot tell you more at the moment because I don’t know more.
“We have not bought the players to replace van Persie, but to strengthen our squad with the thinking van Persie will stay. That’s still my mind at the moment.”
This shows that Wenger was indeed trying to strengthen the squad rather than replace RVP upfront but the fact that he says he doesn't know about anymore about RVP and he thinks he will stay at the moment is a bit worrying for me. Firstly he should know all the details about this whole Saga and the fact that he doesn't know seems to suggest that Gazidis is dealing with RVP and he says that he will stay at the moment is not really a strong claim for me and suggests that the RVP deal may be dependent on Gazidi's actions which again is very worrying for me as we know what he is likely to do in this scenario. This is all speculation and maybe i'm reading into this a bit too much, however after the game I was hoping that Wenger would stamp his authority and say that RVP is staying or at least confirm that he is indeed leaving because this whole saga is dragging on far too much for my liking

Seems like Man U are ready to offer £20 M for RVP, according to sources SAF has spoken directly to Wenger about it. Doh
I hope AW told him where to shove it.

Reports are circulating that we are interested in Olympiacos forward Kevin Mirallas, with Park or Squillaci as part of a deal.

How can we not know whether RVP will stay or go ? Hasn't anybody bothered to ask the man himself ??
Its simple !! "Robin, will you stay with Arsenal this season?"

From what the rumors seem to suggest, Wenger has said he will not talk to United until they offer around £30M for RVP which clearly shows that he is trying to keep him. However it has also been hinted that the board will overrule Wengers decision and could agree a deal of anything in the region of £22M for RVP. I think something similar happened with Nasri and Cesc as Wenger truly believed that those players would stay only for the club to agree to sell those players. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this is true and if we do sell him to United then it will confirm my suspicions that Wenger is being overruled by Stan and Ivan the terrible.

Why is it that anyone who signs with Darren Dein always leaves us? I wonder if we can get Darren Dein barred from the Emirates. For a person with Dein DNA, he doesn't appear to be doing us much good AFAIK.

I can't help feeling Mr A that the club could have done much more and much earlier to show and persuade RvP to stake his future with us. If Heaven forbid he does go, I wouldn't blame him a bit.

Very true, if only Wenger was a bit more firm in stance I think we would have kept a number of players. Still the board are to blame and they definitely wont win any fans if they sell RVP to United. I would like to see the fans who are with the board try and twist this, they would still probably find a way to blame RVP
